Day 12 (Thursday, June 1, 2006)
The Holland America folks have included coupons for 20% off the breakfast buffet at the hotel. Since the buffet is $29.95, however, we figure we can do better at the food court across the street. Barb ignores the mom-and-pop places and opts for an Egg McMuffin at McDonald's--who'd believe it?!
At 8:30 we're off on our 13-hour tour to Victoria. It's an hour bus ride to the ferry terminal and a 90-minute ferry ride from Vancouver to Victoria. This ferry is BIG. It has 3 decks for vehicles and carries many busses, 18-wheelers, and even an army tank on a flatbed! We have been advised to eat on the ferry in order to conserve our "wandering" time in Victoria. Not a problem, as the ferry has 4 restaurants.
Once in Victoria, we take a tour of the city, then spend 2 hours at the Butchart Gardens which, even on a drizzly day, are incredible!

We return to the hotel at 9:30 PM, just in time to pack 'cause we're going home!
