After engineering and teaching, photography is Richard Steinfeldt's third career. He currently concentrates on teaching photographers to deal with new technology. In the art world, students expect their teachers to create as well as teach, and so he spends a good deal of time photographing the beauty of the natural world. His work has most recently been seen in the Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown, New York.
Reasonable pricing is possible because the Internet is the only place we do business--aside from several "upscale" gift shops in Florida and New York. There is no storefront, studio or gallery to support. I do not sell at art or craft shows, so do not have the expenses involved with show fees, travel, etc.
You may think that I sound like a decent sort of person, but who knows? One final note: There has been much attention paid recently to the claim that digitally-printed artwork tends to begin fading in a year or two. While this is true of work printed with consumer-grade equipment, we use equipment designed for use by professional photographers. In addition, we use only lightfast inks and papers which have been independently tested. The results of these tests show that our images will last 24-26 years under normal indoor display conditions before beginning to fade. This is equal to, or better than, the performance of conventional photographic prints.
